I recently got the opportunity to shoot Wavves, Best Coast, and Cherry Glazerr. Needless to say it was a blast. Music has always been a huge passion of mine so to combine both my favorite forms of art into one is just amazing. My dream of being a photographer actually began when I blindly subscribed to Rolling Stone (not knowing really what is was) when I was only 12 or 13. I bought a poster than had a free subscription slip inside so I tried my luck and I have never looked back. Rolling Stone totally changed my world and shaped my dreams. Since I did not know how to play an instrument or sing anything other than Courtney Love's 'Violet', I used to Google the bios of the people behind the scenes: the photographers, editors, etc. It wasn't until college that I started attending shows and realized I could do this if I really wanted to. Now while I've never had any of my work appear in Rolling Stone, a girl can still have goals.
This show was especially special for me because Wavves was actually one of the first CDs I ever purchased on my own. I remember feeling SO COOL because they weren't that popular when their self-titled album "Wavves" was released so I felt like they were my little secret from the world. Now, six years later, my dream career is taking off and I'm getting to work beside some of the musicians that shaped my love for music and the arts.
Now if you actually got through reading all that sorry for my rambling. I have added three new galleries under the Music tab...but if you're too lazy to click I've also included some of them below, enjoy!
